Retail Strategies Competition
|
Every year, Threads host an annual scholarship competition for its members which aims to provide students with an opportunity to earn extra funds in support of their education. The organization's Vice President of Retailing leads the annual initiative by researching relevant topics in retail and composing a case study for participating members. Participants attend multiple workshops to learn about the case study and are assigned mentors to provide additional exclusive assistance with the project. Once completed, the projects are reviewed by a group of local industry professionals. Students with the highest reviews present their projects at our annual event, during which the scholarships are awarded. In 2013, Threads debuted a networking session after presentations for students to speak with a variety of industry professionals and further expand their knowledge of potential career paths in the apparel and retail industries.
